This week we continued to think about counting in 2's, 5's and 10's and made some very long number lines with our friends.
With Sam we continued to think about capacity by exploring which of the 3 Bears bowls would hold the most.
We practiced tall and short letters with our Tricky word 'of'.
As part of our Matariki celebrations we went to the Museum for a Maori Myths and Legends workshop. We were all very proud of our friends who shared their pepeha.
Nicki told us about the legend of the Pelorus dolphin which is shown on the tukutuku panel in the photo below. We made iti wheke, a little octopus and then listened to another legend about a wheke.
Check out the slide show below for more more Matariki activities.
We had a special treat on Thursday when we went to visit the artist in residence upstairs in Renwick House. We had a go at drawing birds using pencils of different hardness to make light and dark lines. You can see some of her work in the entrance to the school office.
In sport we continued to develop our soccer and rugby skills. So good to see everyone with an 'I can' attitude and having a go.
This week we celebrated our 2nd 6th birthday in Room 10.
Finally I was impressed to see that Room 10 are mastering the art of moving around school by hovering!
