This week started with a full school assembly underneath the lime trees on our front field. Well done Kowhai children for setting a great example of our key Competency 'Managing Self" during this gathering.
Now that our reading programme is well underway we are enjoying practicing reading with our friends after we have worked in our reading groups with Tracy and Sam.
During play based learning this week we saw some complex creations being made in class.....
...and also at home. We loved this crocodile which was a great inspiration for more egg box creatures during the week.
Outside we were busy problem solving ways to get tennis balls from the top of our fort into a bucket below.
We have been exploring patterns and shapes in maths as well as using a pictogram to sort out minibeasts.
Lots of learning linked to letter sounds and Tricky Words has taken place and it is really helping us get to grips with our reading and writing.
In No Child Left Inside we started to learn how to throw an object using an underarm throw.
We ended the week by doing the next stage of our portrait work with Sam, they are shaping up really well.
